Bring Back the 4th Contest

Fourth of July skies over many American cities and towns will be dark this year, fallout from the struggling economy that’s left more and more local governments unable to fund their traditional fireworks shows.

The recession’s red glare has caused fireworks cancellations from Stamford, Connecticut to San Jose, California, and numerous points in between. In Kenly, North Carolina, the town council had to choose between lighting up the sky or laying off workers. Parades and other festivities in honor of America’s birthday have also been called off.

That’s why this year Liberty Mutual is launching its Bring Back the 4th contest, which will award a $10,000 grant for local fireworks, cookouts, parades, or honoring veterans to 10 winning cities and towns. To enter, visit www.BringBackThe4th.com between now and June 14, and take the brief quiz about responsible moments in U.S. history. Families, friends, schools, and businesses can work together to put the sizzle back in their holiday.

I think everyone one here in america should set aside all the name calling for that important day. Let's unite for one day and think abouted what it mean for us to be free in speech in voting and do what ever you want to do.

I wish everyone a " Happy 4th.July ", and most off all be safe.

      God Bless.

I think that the goverment can support our nations birthday,Its bad enufff that a few people have made it that the average person cant celebrate. This is what our country is about ,freedom, celebration of that, it also honors our troops that are fighting for us and that we can do the things we do in this country, from our way of living to our ,freedom of speech, our money should be for our country first!!!

We should always celebrate 4th of July because, not only because our founding Fathers did it but because it's our constitional giving right, for freedom, and our peace in this World, not only that but also our soldiers that are figthing for our freedom in the middle east.We should thank God that!"
